Regal Entrance

This sprig of oak chose to make a regal entrance to the day sporting purple garb and covered in jewels of water droplets. I chose to give her the royal treatment by providing a textured background. As they say: “First impressions are everything.” Well now it is your turn. The day is started. Go ahead, make your entrance. Enjoy!

newborn

It has been a very long time since I last held a newborn baby in my arms but I still remember. I remember feeling tender and awestruck. Being in the presence of such beauty and peace was a spiritual experience. My body slowed down and I was beyond thinking. I just melted into the being-ness of that sweet innocence. I had a similar experience meeting this newborn oak sprig this morning. Less than a minute in the company of these tender leaves and I was reconnected with the miracle of nature… and with myself. Enjoy.

Softly Now

The sun was slowly rising as I hiked in the Garden Of The Gods this morning. I was planning to spend much of my day recording and one of the planned songs was on constant replay in my head. Much to do. How will I organize the day? Where to start? Just then I noticed the soft light touching on a new branch of delicate leaves. I stopped and inhaled the moment, breathing in the softness as I gazed at this beautiful new life. Grounded and peaceful I headed for home ready for my day.

I’m Crazy

I’m crazy, I’m wild, I am overflowing with creative energy and producing art and music at a frenetic pace. I don’t know if the change of pace resulting from social distancing is the cause of my creative explosion. I don’t know if it is that my spirit wants me to spend myself before being launched into whatever comes next but I have never experienced anything quite like this. Sometimes the stimulus is so intense it sets me to trembling.

Whatever it is that is sparking my imagination and driving me, I am grateful. I will learn how to manage the intensity. Meanwhile I feel so very alive! Today I offer a Celestial Salute to the universal mind, the benign intelligence of the creative universe.

Finding Joy In Nature

Finding joy in nature is a way I nourish my spirit and gain peace of mind  especially when dealing with difficult times. It is easy to think of enjoying outdoor Colorado as doing something – hiking, biking, climbing or skiing. What is glorious is to slow down, way down, and just spend time, being – with a tree, a fresh green leaf, or even a sprig of last season’s copper colored oak leaves still on the branch.

I met this cluster of new growth shortly after dawn on my morning hike. I watched enthralled as the sun gently touched  the leaves and I inhaled the joy of that moment. That feeling stays with me for hours illuminating my choices and creative expressions.  Here’s is my simple piece of photo art Joyful Arrival. You can find the wall art josephliberti.com.
Wishing you joy!

Joyful Arrival

Midnight Fantasy

Midnight Fantasy, is the first title that jumped to my mind while viewing the fairy-tale shapes and curves and the green and blues hues of this just completed photo art. I am fascinated by the unique shape of this noxious weed, sometimes called Toadflax, and find it compelling and beautiful in it’s own way.

Joseph Liberti's Midnight Fantasy

I snapped the closeup thinking I would find some way to shine a little light on its charm. My interpretation started simply as a way to clean it up, and soon the process took on an energy of its own. I can not tell you what I did or why. I just keep moving as the image kept revealing itself to me in different ways until together we arrived at what you see. That process is not unusual for me but this plant had a strong influence and I went with the flow.

I noticed that If we call something “just a weed” we are likely to judge its character and beauty as we might do with humans we don’t know or understand. We humans tend to label things and sometimes we react to the label rather than the person or idea. Midnight Fantasy is a lesson in recognizing the beauty in all that exists, even when strange and different to us. Now when I look at the plant I imagine it to be a part of some wondrous fantasy movie. I hope you enjoy it.
